Five years after the fire, the spire of Notre-Dame is once again visible in the sky of Paris.
Everyone certainly remembers what they were doing on April 15, 2019, when Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral was ravaged by flames. For five years everything has been done to rebuild this symbol of France and Paris. Nearly 200 scientists from 50 laboratories took part in the restoration work on the monument. The promise is about to be kept, since the reopening is scheduled for December 8.
To complete the rebirth of the cathedral, another project for the redevelopment of the surroundings of the monument is underway, at the initiative of the City of Paris. The environment of Notre-Dame will be completely redesigned, transforming the reception and support of the twelve million annual visitors and pilgrims. This redevelopment will begin in the second half of 2024 and will be completed in 2027.
